Need new tires again and I am considering using Pep Boys again. I can't beat the price and their road hazzard gurantee extends to any tire damage including a pucture by a survey rod when off road.

I was looking at one of their 33" X 12.50" tires and they stipulate a minimum rim width of 8.5". It's my understanding that the stock 12 spoke wheels have a 8" rim width. What concerns would I have, if any in using the stock rims on a 33" X 12.50" tire?

Or, should I just go a head and use the 31" X 10.5"

I have a 2.25" spring lift and a 3" body lift.

You have no worries with a 12.50 wide on a 8" or 8.5" rim... you will just gain more sidewall bulge... hence better protection for the rim on trails when you rub the sidewalls.

The 8" (8.5") rim will allow the 33 to tuck into the wheelwells as well, so your ok with the setup you have to run them. I can't say if you would rub or not on severe off-camber predicaments.... but I doubt it...
