View Full Version : Steering problems with body lift

I have 1977 Wagoneer and wondering if I need to mess with the steering. I looked in the archives but did not find much.
For a body lift I would not think so, there is a ujoint on the column just on the engine side of the firewall and the column itself has some compression/extension play to work with.
If you have an automatic, on the column, you may have some shift linkage issues, depending on the height of the lift.
There are fuel filler hoses and wires connected to the body also that you need to keep an eye on.
Most should have enough extra length for a modest lift.
Edit: You also have brake lines to keep an eye on too.
