Antelope,
Clean it out and dry the Air filter canister.
Then when operating the Jeep take a peek in the air filter canister every once and a while. If you are getting a bit of wet oil buildup in it, well my guess would be a number of things most of them would just point to it older wornout motor. Rings valve guides etc. Got to live with it if it goes. Or dive into the deep end make sure you wear a preserver if you know what I mean.

Assuming you have a stock aircleaner setup the oil is coming from the oil filler cap vent tube that connects to the aircleaner. There is either excessive blowby from a worn engine as mentioned above or 1: the PCV valve is clogged and not properly venting the crankcase - clean or replace it. 2: you need a new cap for the oil filler tube.
When at WOT (wide open throttle) there is no vacume to vent the crankcase through the PCV so the normal blowby gets vented out the oil filler cap into the air cleaner. The cap has a mesh filter to minimize any oil being blown into the aircleaner. Check your cap and PCV. You can also remove the cap and check for any blowby from the oilfiller when revving the engine by placing your hand above the opening and 'feeling for it'.

also make sure all the pcv hoses are in good shape, and not clogged up.

good advice here, my new 88 has the same problems.thats why i got it for 500$. a compression test revealed that cylinders 1 and 3 were much lower than the rest. oiled them up and re-tested,psi went right up, so rings are the problem. is this on a fresh rebuild? if so i would inform the re-builder.
