my truck has stock axles and gears, which means i have open diffs, right?
....
and i also have P/T which means that when edrive is off, i get only 2wd, and i have to lock my hubs AND turn the switch, right?
....
and even though i have P/T, when my edrive is working, it sends power 50/50 front and rear, right?
....
and if so, i lock my hubs and have edrive engaged, and because i have open diffs and one of my hubs is not locking, all power up front will be transfered to the one unlocked wheel, right?
....
Causing neither of my front wheels to spin, right?
....
But even so, if i have zero traction on BOTH front wheels, shouldn't they turn anyways because of my locked Edrive?
....

No the Locked E-Drive will only send power to the front Diff. The diff will send power to the hubs if one is locked and one is unlocked it will send ALL POWER to the unlocked hub thus not turning that wheel nor the locked one. You most likely have open diffs as that was OEM with Q-Trac.

Locked E-drive only sends power to the front??? Is that because the unit is now P/T? So is the rear getting any power? I'm confused.

Bombadier, Hubs are easy to fix.

Locked E-drive only sends power to the front???
Yes that is correct, due the the instalation of the Part Time Kit. In normal drive Bombadier is in rear wheel drive already. Switching to E drive engages the front output on the T-Case, that is all E drive does anyhow. The rear always has Power with the Part time Kit in it.

ahhhh clear as mud! I was going to say, E-Drive=FWD??? haha. My 76 had a part time kit and acted very much the same way when I broke a hub.

cool guys, thanx a bundle! smile.gif my hubs are Warn hubs, i didn't think they'd go bad, knowing Warn's reputation. what other kind of locking hubs are out there that are good/long-lasting?

Pull your hub apart and look at it. Might just be the springs broke. Warn sells service kits/parts for their Premium line. Don't know about their Standards though.
