well just got back from a weekend of playing in the local mountains and i got a weird problem , that im not sure how to fix, i live at 4400 ft but went up 11,000 . anyhow are 6500 it started acting like it was loading up , then i paused revved the motor a few times and lost more power when i tried to start going again , finally got the campspot but was only able to go around 10 mph other wise is would buck and jerk.It only a 2gv carb on a 350 dautless, what is the best way to adjust my carb for altitude or is there a way ????also the truck seemed fine when we went below 6500 ft , checked this with gps to verify...so what gives ???I ve never had this problem before but ive never been to this place before either, but went up to 8500 before this about a year ago and no problems . Im stumped !!! Thanx in advance

Can't help with your question off hand (I've got 3 carbs in my truck, one for in town, one for wheeling, and a backup that's setup half decently for all) Problem at altitude is the airs thinner, thus you start running richer as you climb...

Reason for the post, is actually more of a tread lightly note! above 8000' the environmental impact we make (damage to plants that may be growing on/along the trail) takes 4x longer to heal. Our clubs highly suggest staying below that altitude...

Just in case ya didn't know! I was surprised when the rangers informed us of that. Believe it was verified by the nice folks at "Tread Lightly".

well i know about tread lightly and what you were talking about ,but its up to a state maintained campground on a well maintained road , dont need 4 wheel to get there. so no problems there.

the 2gv is supposed to automatically compensate for high altitude via some built in magic... I'll do alittle digging in the svc manual and see what I come up with.
