The question IS...why the English's steering wheel offset from the driver's seat?

Is it offset? Maybe your seat is crooked... ;)
I've never really noticed. Which side do you feel it's offset toward? I did sit in a new Pontiac one time where the steering-wheel felt like it was pointing at my right shoulder, but my Cherokee and my Wagoneer are nothing like that.
But maybe I'm just used to it.

If you have a bench seat then this doesnt apply.
But if you have factory bucket seats, sit in it center yourself in the seat then you might notice that the wheel is off a little to the left. This seems like it would be perfect for standard shift, left hand on the wheel and right on the stick.
I just put Toyo seats in and corrected this,I weigh around onesixtyfive @5'9",If I was any bigger I would have a prolem being bunched up against the door. But i am trying to keep my weight in check so I can enjoy the new found (fabricated} symetry in my Jeep.
Can I get a witness?

the older dodges are the same way. Probably so the farmers can hang their arms out the window and still reach the wheel comfortably.
