My driver's side door won't unlock from the outside with the key. I think it's the key cylinder. I called the parts stores and they didn't have it and the stealership wants $135. Junk yards wont sell it without the rest of the door. Does anyone know where to get one/have one for sale?

Tell the parts stores that you have a chevy, say a mid 70's model, or find out what the part no. of the key cylinder in the column, and match to a GM part no., then use that year model GMC product as a guide.

bjsoffroad.com (http://bjsoffroad.com) has them. You have to get them rekeyed though...

Anyone know... I got the key cylinders from BJs, but they dont come with the stuff to key them. I dont have any keys for my rig, and one of the cylinders has a key broken off in it...

Any idea on where/how to get these keyed, and get some keys for it?

Are they the same parts as GMs? Can I buy a set of locks for a similar year GM (with keys) and swap internal parts???

either that, or just install the GM locks. have you checked with a locksmith?

I grabbed mine at a salvage yard. They are only held in by a clip just inside the door. I just removed them myself and they didn't charge me much. ($5 for the pair IIRC)
