I tried to get my qt into low range after changing out the chain and it would not go unless I turned off the jeep and put it in low. Then when it was in low I could not move in any gear. I had to shut it off put it back in high and then it worked just fine. I do not have my front drive shaft in, could that have anything with why it won't move when in low?

If you dont have your front driveshaft on then is it in the lock or Emergency drive on position?
If its not then the front yoke will be spinning causing your problem. The power is bypassing your rear shaft and going to the path of less resistance.
Is the motor on? And what gear is it in when you try to shift it.
Please, Please tell me you used a top O the line chain....

Yes it is already locked in e-drive, I hvae been driving it this way since July.

Yes the engine is running and it is in neutral. I am rolling about 5 mph or less and shift into neutral and then try to shift the QT. It will only switch into low with the engine off.

Please, Please tell me you used a top O the line chain....

What? I don't understand this statement.

Todd, I have been driving the wife's car to work but I will drive the jeep tomorrow. I will not be in until 1200, we are doing half days over there http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/biggrin.gif I will call you in the AM and find out if you will be there.

Scotty I am pretty sure it is together right. Which low range drive are you talking about? Also did you want the gears out of the AMC 20 I have?
