as many as you care to pay for. anything over 500 should do fine, but you stand a better chance in the cold with a higher rating. and with a larger battery you should get a longer warrantee.

As many as you can get. Do they have Optima batteries there? If so that's what I would use, they are sealed, use no water, will not freeze, if you put new cables on at the same time they won't corrode. It's a great bettery for the cold weather you have.

Big batteries, and big cables are a good thing. Your Jeep will love you for it.

The most critical connections, believe it or not, are your grounds, so take special care with them.

Take good care of the electrical system on the vehicle, and it'll take good care of you.

I would like to know if anyone is running a dry cell automotive battery?

If so what brand and how much did you pay for it?

Thanks

Is someone even making a 12v dry cell? I know there are several gel cells (Optimas are good examples), but I don't think there are any dry cells available.

There is one out there, but I don't know anyone using one. I read a magazine article and test comparing it and the Optima, as I remember the Optima was better in the tests. I've got 2 Optimas in my Jeep and 2 in my Ford and haven't had any problems with them at all. They are good batteries if you get one I think you will be happy with it.

I have a red top in my Commando. A couple of years ago I left it idling in the driveway, dog in back. Went into the house to get something, came out and smoke was rolling out from under the hood. Popped the hood to an engine bay full of flames. Ran back into the house, grabbed a jug of fruit juice. Doused the flames with the juice and my jacket.

The metal fuel line had cracked up by the intake, which caused the fire. It burned all the wires in the engine bay, burned the plug wires, oil fill cap, dist cap, among other things. It even melted the Optima.

I replaced all the melted crap except the Optima. That battery still worked like new, even in it's disfigured, melted state. I believe in them!

I would really recommend the red top Optima battery. It will last 3-4 times than the regular one and cost only two times more. I paid $129 plus tax, it rates 800-CCA but the actual reading on the ampmeter is over 1100 Amps and I guess all good products don't need to over rates their performances. I kown the guy has been used it for 7 years and still like new.
