with the monsoon season we've been having here in the northeast, I've noticed my passenger (first) and driver's side windshield dripping down onto my floor mats. Before I'm driving like Fred Flintstone, feet out the bottom, what is the cure? Pulling the windshield and installing a new gasket? Is it gasket + silicone? Anyone got the part # on the gasket?

If there's a cheaper/easier fix, I'd love to hear that too smile.gif

Clear silicone all around the outside on both side of the chrome piece. Clear won't be seen.

Your windshield gasket should not leak at all and should not need any silicone. Find out where and why it's leaking. A new one is about $100.

Figure out if it's coming in on the glass or body sde of the gasket first. On the glass side you can use clear silicon. Run a dull knife around to open it up and get the silicon down in the seal. On the body side use black window sealer get it down inbetween the the body a gasket best you can. I use a hooked tool to help open it some. Just remeber water can travel a long distance in the gasket before coming in.

A word of advice, talking from experiance; When you use silicon around your windshield, you will get silicon bleeding which will streak down the windshield. This will continue for a very long time, this silicon carry-over will happen whenever it rains. Your windshield will have this almost impossible to remove haze on it that will cause the wipers to chatter. Better spend a couple extra bucks and use a windshield sealer that's made for the job.
