If you had your choice, which would you purchase? (I'm talking about SELECTABLE lockers.)
Seems to me the Detroit Electric isn't that popular/available currently, so that pretty much leaves the ARB or Ox. And I'm leaning towards the Ox, but haven't been able to find much information on reliability.
I'd like to hear first-hand or second-hand experience here, if anyone has any.
Thanks!!

I have ARBs and like them a lot.
Was on a ride with a guy that had a OX that was setup buy a shop and it kept poping out. He had to constantly force the lever back in to keep it locked.
Other folks on the ride said they'd seen it before?
The electric seems to be nice, though I know no one that is running it yet.

the OX shifters have been redone since the original design that had that popping out problem... the fix is an improved design that eliminates the problem...
I have Detroits (no spin) and if money weren't an option.. OX lockers for me....
manual engagement is (IMHO) more assuring than relying on air to work.... you have lines and possible leaks to contend with and I wouldn't want to deal with that personally

OX all the way. They fixed the previous problems with not staying locked. They look to be bulletproof. And i'd much rather have a cable-select locker than air. RiverBeast said it best.

I have an OX on order for my rear 44. Cow catcher I hope your wrong. I was told should be just after the first of the year....Well it's February.
When I get it I can post what I find. I did alot of research before buying and I think they are pretty tough. They had some early design problems like the pinion scuffing the carrier, but they have reengineered all that. I have also heard that the cables may need to be adjusted after some use. OK by me... Beats replacing a compressor or an air line or even an O-ring......

if i had ARBs(or found some for cheap smile.gif ) id continue to run them also.
if i was gonna buy a brand new unit,id also go with the ox ifn i had that option. i prolly wont be spending $$ on a selectable locker until i put in my front 70,and the only thing available for is the ARB :(
i do like the looks of the new detroit and eaton vaccum/selectable lockers.
