Hey all,

The firetruck has just recieved its upgraded wiring harness from American Autowire (amazing how nice it looks and safe it feels and how empowering tearing all that wire out is), but the kit came with a new headlight switch that I need to pull the wires out of and place into the old connector. Since I didn't realize that I would need to do this prior to removing *all* the wire in the truck I'm not sure which wire goes where in the plug and I'm looking for some help from the list. I still have wires connected in the old plug so I know what colors went on what connectors, but am still abit in the dark.

Here is what I know:

I have the following wires to be connected:

-dome ground
-dash panel lights
-tail and parking lights
-battery feed for tail, parking and dash lights
-headlight feed
-battery feed

The original switch has the following labels on the connectors, with old wire colors in (parens), and my best guess as to the curcuit in <braces>:

B (red wire/white stripe) <assume battery feed>
P (blue wire)
B2 (2 wires, brown and black)
D (black/yellow) <dome ground, known>
R (2 wires, both yellow) <parking lights, known>
unmarked 1 (green wire)
unmarked2 (rheostat connection) <dash lights>

any help?

ok, i've solved the mystery with a combination of schematic and smarts, well, not so much smarts as money - about $5.

if anybody is interested in the solution or pinouts for the switch email me and i'll write something up for you.
