heh, since i got my truck one end of my speedometer cable was threaded through a hole in my frame and just hanging there.....was waiting to get my instrument cluster and gauges to hook it back up. now i'm trying to put it back together and i can't find the cable-to-tranny hookup...chiltons and haynes pass right over that...and i found a loose tranny mount too, seems the nut and washer stripped the threads and dropped off....kinda funny since i don't really get any excess vibration from there or hard shifting.....

The speedo cable screws in to the rear of the transfer case. You should see the threaded input right near the rear yoke on the transfer case housing facing the driver's side slightly in top of the case (pointing at about 10 o'clock)

If you turn to page 7-34 in your Chilton's (yes, I too admit to having a Chilton's) then you will see the speedo cable in the picture where I said it is. You can just barely make it out but if you consider where I told you where it is and can ignore the e-brake cable that is also right there then you will see it.
