Hey, can anyone tell me how to grease my U joints?? I just got a new grease gun and managed to grease every fitting except for the u joints. I can't get the coupling to fit on the grease fitting because there isn't enough room to get the coupling in. I tried looking for a narrower coupling with no luck. I know someone out there must have run into this problem, too (I hope smile.gif ).
Any suggestions??
Thanks!

It sounds like to me the u-joints were installed incorrectly otherwise this would not be a problem. This will NOT cause any wear problems for the U-joint. Although It will cause the problem you are speaking off, having a hard time getting to the grease zerk. You might try a needle adapter for the grease gun. These are a bit tricky for one person to use but can be effective to get grease into the U-joints. Good Luck.

yeah, get a CV lube attachment for your grease gun, then you can do your u-joints AND the CV joint thats prolly in yer front d-shaft.
I just leave mine on the gun all the time {cause I can't get it off} but it works on all my grease fittings.
good luck,

I grease mine with the tires off the ground. That way I can rotate the driveshaft to a point that the grease gun will fit in.

Will the needle attachment work on a standard grease fitting? And has anyone ever used the right angle coupling?

I think some ujoints dont have grease fittings...depends on what brand.

I'm going to go get the right angle connector tomorrow and give it a shot. If that doesn't work, I think I'll try grinding down the regular coupling so I can fit it in there. Either way, I'm only out 5-10 bucks. I'll let you all know how it turns out.
