229 fluid compacity?

My book says the 229 holds 6 quarts. AFter rebuilding it, i can't get but 4 before she over flows? Whats up?

I can only fit 3-4 in mine too. Make sure you top it off again once you drive it but that is all mine has ever taken. And I have changed mine about 3 times.....
