I have heard several people talk about cutting the top bolt instead of fighting with it. I was just wondering how many of you have done this.

I wouldn't do it; dropping the A/C unit only adds ten minutes to the removal job, and you have to take it down to really get at the lower bolt anyway.

Don't do it, just unbolt it...

Just drop your AC unit and do it. You will need a 7/16 deep well socket to get at it right. I just tightened up the ones on my Cherokee tonight.

This will be the easiest heater core you will EVER change...I wouldn't worry about taking a ten minute shortcut.

Cutting the bolt is something a DSPO would do. Don't become a DSPO !

With absolutely no skill and a history of nothing being simple, even I did the ten minute part of the job in less than 30 minutes
