I posted a few days ago on the proper firing order for a 327 vigilante in a 1966 Wagoneer because she will turn over strong but not fire up. I checked the wires and they were right on but still no spark. This engine has probably been sitting for at least 15 years.

This is what I have done so far:

1.) checked to make sure the dizzy is spinning and a quick visual inspection - the cap looks near new and no rust on the points

2.) replaced the coil

3.) checked for 12 volts to the coil with key to start - failed, so I jumped a wire direct from the battery to the + coil terminal

No luck so far, any suggestions?

Have someone turn the engine over, with cap off and visualy make sure the points are opening and closing, if they are indeed opening and closing then the condensor or coil is defective, point systen is fool proof, if cap and rotor look good and no spark, usually means: points are dirty or not opening and closing, Coil, or condensor, Thats it! ;)

I finally got her running and she absolutely purrs. Thanks for the help!

P.S. My curiosity is now quenched and I have no time to do this ride justice so I am going to sell her. Check out the for sale board if you're interested.
