I have a 231 out of a 92 YJ 242 engine and ax-15 tranny. I also have a 231 out of a 92 xj same engine, but may be from an auto. The YJ case is busted and the shift fork is broke. Since they are both 23 spline, will it bolt up, or will I have to switch some housing parts around? Thanks, Dennis

Nope, as far as I know, they should just bolt right up. Just count twice and make shure it is 23 spline. If they are you are good to go.

yup, early aw4 autos used a 21 sline tailsahft. in a worse case scenario, you could swap the 23 spline input gear from the busted case,as long as the stick-out lengths are the same. measure the stickout before disassembly,as too short an input gear will not have enuff spline engagement and eventually twist off
