A friend recently gave me a rebuilt edelbrock 1400 carburetor. Which adapter(s) do I need to mount this on my '80 Wagoneer Ltd. (360) using the stock intake manifold? I know--I should probably buy the performer intake, but I'm a college student working part-time and food and rent are higher priorities at the moment...

You need a square bore to 2v adapter. It will give you some boost over stock, but dont expect a lot because you will basicaly be running a restrictor plate, because of the 2v intake. But the 4v intake can come later like you said.

The 1400 is a smog legal carb if I recall correctly, so if you hook up all the smog it should be legal.

I know the 1405/1406 are not. I had thought the 1400 was designed to be, I may be wrong though.
