View Full Version : Did the Salvage yard thing all weekend

I was looking for a 75-79 dana 44 front axle assembly, saw a ton of dana 30 fronts and amc20 rears but no 44,s. Are they that hard to find? Will th 30 fronts and 20 rears fit my 64 wag frame? Also is this switch any good? Frustrated!!

If it was me I'd go with a 44, but that's personal preference. The 44 is way stronger than the 30.

I find 44's easy around here. In fact I have one if your interested. $50 and its yours I'm not too far from you so you could pick it up.

I can't believe how many wags I looked under this weekend, not one 44. What year wag is it from, what gears, could always change them, where is brookville in relationship to Washington?

I think you need a couple of good manuals now. They will come in really handy and will be great for all your new projects on your Jeep. And it looks like you need a PA map too.

Ya! Drums from Wyoming, axles from Pa, it will be a very busy fall, I have an 18 year old senior in high school, its his vehicle. Though I do like to work on these old vehicles. I retired as a high school head football coach after 32 years, first free summer in a long time. Still teaching though, four more years and I will retire from it also. Always had this old car thing since I was a teenager, guess i should have been a mechanic, then I wouldn't need to ask as many questions
