Well Bohunks may of had his last stand after all. The Jeep was delivered to another friends house and he said upon closer inspection the rear drivers leafs are bent back (the wrong way) along with the rear spring hanger.
So I am left with the following option and tech questions:
-I may be able to get another FSJ from a local yard for 40 dollars and swap some parts from Bohunks to it and have a new FSJ. The catch is that I have to get the Jeep out of this yard up a small incline onto their scale with no tow vehicle...how dificult is it to swap a frame?
Maybe theres some options here I am not seeing...in the mean time I am also thinkin about trying to part it out and buy another FSJ...
Thanks for any help...

Relocate the spring-hangers under the frame, banging and pulling it into shape enough for the rear suspension-mounts to be square and even. Then bolt on some new springs and hangers, and cut everything-else off.

Yeay, just replace the hangers and springs... nothing real complicated here.
You can remove the spring by yourself, and have some one come and weld the hangers right.
Then go shopping the yards for the replacement springs, and VOLIA, after you get them from the local Pull-yer-own-Parts-Auto, you will be an expert, or someone wise enough to know that you would rather have someone else tackle putting them on again.
Either way, you are ahead of the game!

Could I still trim them back though behind the spring hanger and chop the frame though?

Well its even worse the more updates I get from home as my friend looks closer. He said the frame on the drivers side is bent all the way up the to rear axle, so this idea is out. I am looking though for a good FSJ with no engine and ill put Bohunks power into it. Thanks for the info here though, I learned for next time... :(

goodluck 2nd day
i know how itis to lose brakes, scary stuff man.
happened to be two weekends ago, and i have less then a year of driving (onroad) experience. my dad was up the hill, i started going up and it stalled out. i knew when it stalled out that the brakes should be hard to press but it was mashy like butter and it didnt stop. it started rollin back and i tossed on the e-brake. it kept going and i did what i could before fallin off the cliff, i threw it into Park. luckey for me i didnt grenade the tranny. my dad told me now that i should have pressed the brake pedal a couple more times to ingage the shutoff valve so the other brakes would work...i know now though.
If it was me I would make absolutely sure that I couldnt use bohunks because you might just think it would be 40 bucks and thats that but swappin in the engine and all the other parts that dont work on the junkyard rig might add up to alot and it could be alot more work swapping all the stuff rather than fixing bohunks.

I would think if the back end got squished enough to bend the springs (not easy to do) then it sounds like the fraem is shot and not worth saving at all.

I am with Stuka. Even if you fix it, it probably not ride right ever again. $40 bucks! Go for it!

Yea, the frames shot. Unfortunatley I cant get the 40 dollar wag to their scales...its just too heavy.
But a couple of other plans are in the works...Bohunks engine and maybe more will be in the plans...there in spirit...
