On my '83 wagoneer the metal track that the glass is mounted on is rusted so bad that it catches on the latch arms that run all the way across the inside of the tailgate. I havent found a solution yet. let me know if you do. good luck!

Either the rubber on the side-tracks is ripped and causing the window to bind in a certain place, or the lower window channel is coming apart and binding up the lowering arms.
You'll have to pull the rear tailgate carpet panel and the access panel underneath it to see what's going on in there.
Are you able to "assist" it lowering the rest of the way if you push down on it with your hand while you lower it?
no i tried pusshing it down by hand and having some one else run the switch it wont go cant even opean the dam tailgate i will take the access panel tomorrow and see if i can figure it out

Also make sure that the window is level side to side, that caused some problems with mine, just loosen mounting screws on motor/arm/gear assembly and reposition. It could also be something catching on teh release lever for the latches. Lie on your back, stick your head into the greasy gears, and look up with a flashlight. (a mirror would help also) Hope this helps
