YIPPEE,,the 65 327 fired up with new points yesterday. It fired up on ether and ran for a minute with gas in a spray bottle directly into the carb. The rats ate all of the original ruber lines, and the line from the bottom of the fuel pump to the frame rail is shot. So I have some work to do. The fuel pump will not pump from a gas can directly under it. I pulled the pump and the rubber looks decent, but the two dime sized in/out valves? look rusty.
Can I bypass the old mechanical and replace it with an electric running from the frame rail onto the drivers side fender and then directly over to the carb line? Or do I need to replace the old holley pump and try and reroute rubber hoses safely thru the engine.
Wanna try and get her running today..Then onto the brakes!!
Thanks
