I just installed rear disks and am having trouble bleeding them. Real Mushy.
Not sure I know how to Gravity Bleed the calipers.
I am pretty sure I have the calipers on the right sides, only way that the bleed valves are facing up.
Any help on Gravity Bleeding procedures would be great.
Thanks

1)Have a friend with a big bottle(or 2) of brake fluid standing at the master cylinder. He is there to keep the fluid from running dry by pouring in more fluid as is needed.
2)Open up all the bleeder valves
3)Starting at the rear passenger side, wait until you get a steady stream of fluid coming out with no air bubbles, then close it off.
4)Repeat for driver's side rear, passenger side front, and drivers side front in that order.
Be prepaired,as this method will go through quite a bit of fluid.
Is your proportioning valve still in the system? If so,you need to remove the residual(I think that's what it's called)valve from it to provide 100% pressure to the rears, and install an aftermarket adjustable proportioning valve.
Another good way to bleed brakes is with a Mity-Vac. This makes it a one man job,and is a lot cleaner than gravity bleeding. Good luck!

Are you sure the bleeder screws are at the tops of the calipers. I think if you put them on backwards, you can end up with the bleeders at the bottem, and they'll never bleed.
Other then that, the mitivac is an excellent addition to any toolbox.

Thanks
Looks like I'll try to find a mitivac tonight.
Anyone ever submerge the calipers in brake fluid and let the bubbles run out, I was eating cookies last night and the idea came to me?
