Have a battery drain that I can't find. Did the 12 volt light and fuse thing, no luck. Disconnected the alternator, still ran battery down in 2 days. Put on new battery cables, starter cable, solenoid, had alternator checked at auto zone, new starter, battery checked out ok. I have a 72 amc 360 with the solenoid on the inner fender, switched to petronix instead of points and put a one wire alternator in. The solenoid has the starter cable on the one side and the positive battery cable, alternator wire and the solenoid power wire on the other large post. On the small S side post is the ignition switch start wire. There is nothing on the small I post. Do I have this connected properly? About ready to put a kill switch on the battery just so I don't have to charge it every other day. Checked out the search menu but couldn't find any help. Please help, this is driving me crazy!!!!!!

Looking at Chilton's, 'I' terminal gets one wire from the voltage regulator, that you don't need anymore, and second wire goes from 'I' to '+' side of ignition coil, looks like a wire runs from '+' side of coil back to bulkhead connector too. I found that leaving the cruise control switch on was draining my bat. May be time for a volt/ohm meter. IIRC, disconnect neg cable and check for voltage draw from cable to neg term. If you have more than a little (clock, etc, .001 or .002 I think) then do the fuse thing, pulling fuses and checking with VOM across contacts. Hopefully find what circuit is giving you grief. I just put all my engine compartment wiring back in the looms so I feel your pain. ;)
