front spring -- small eye towards the front or the back??

putting my stock front leaf springs back on, when i pulled them from storage i noticed that the main spring eyes are different sizes.

i don't remember which went where, anybody know if the little eye goes on the rear spring hanger or on the shackle in the front?

the large eye was towards the back on my brother's springs. I should know, as I did most of the work putting his lift on.
What is making you put the old springs back on? Ride too rough?

ride is too harsh for me, stock spring rate is 160, the new springs are around 520 or so.

going to put the stock springs back on with some rancho AAL's

With a tape measure check from the spring eyes to the pin for the axel perch. The long end of the spring goes toward the front.
