need some advice

i bought a 360 from a fellow member when i took the carb off to put mine on i notice a bulid up of white power hard as a rock on one side of my throttle body does this mean the engine is no good or what ? and how do i get rid of this stuff and what causes this any advice would be deeply appreciated thanks

Hard to tell from here what the white stuff is but the only white corrosion I've seen eating the pot metal on carbs is either from being bathed regularly in water mixed with road salt or from a battery being dumped and the fan sprayed everything with acid. I'd try a mix of baking soda and water or a wire brush to remove it.

this is on the inside of the intake manifold it goes from the valley pan to the top of the thing thaht the carb sits on
