New noise any ideas?

I know I have an exhaust tick not the problem. But at any speed if I give it gas under load for a few second's it sounds like a baseball card in the spokes of a bike. New exhaust leak??? Only happens under moderate speed or from stop with a load on the engine. Any Ideas???

Thanks, I was thinking fan or fan belt, but I don't have a rad-shroud. Could it be my powersteering belt???

Probably not, but if your fan is hitting the shroud, you should be concerned about motor mounts.

I just got done fixing my 77 chero with this exact same noise. It started for me just when there was a load on the engine with a little more noise in reverse and it would come and go. Then it came back loud all the time.

Get under your rig and pull the inspection plate between the tranny and the engine. Check your torque converter bolts. All mine were so loose that the only thing holding them in was the bell housing. I picked up three new grade 8 bolts at a local shop and put them in.

It took care of a lot of little noises that I never could figure out. Also quited down my shifting. Hope this helps
