Hopefully I'll be doing the ingnition upgrade on my wag this weekend. I seem to remember someone has instructions and pictures of an installation on the web. If someone could direct me to that site I'd appreciate it. Also, are there any things I should look out for when doing the upgrade? Is it really necessary to change the timing? I haven't a clue on how to do that.
thanks,
Jerry

Check these resources. I'll be doing mine in the next week as well.

I checked my timing before and after the upgrade with no change.......I would use this as conclusive though...

I left my timing at the factory recommended setting. I haven't had any problems. I have read other posts about people adjusting it to 6-8 degrees BTDC. Any opinions from anyone else?

I run mine at 8 btdc with the tfi upgrade. If I run it at 10 the engine pings on reg.

It is well worth it, especially if you are going to give your rig a tune up any way. My only hints are that the wires are usually backward when you splice in the new adapter for the coil. And make sure to get the right wires, and bump up the gap on your plugs .045 or so should do it. I run mine @ 10deg BTDC no prob on Regular gas, but she loves that super!!!
