If I buy a lift kit does it replace my existing leaf springs or is it just added to it?
depends what lift kit you get. Add-a-leafs are a thick leaf that you can add to your existing leaf springs to gain 2". Other than this option, most lift kits will include new front leaf springs, and either blocks or add-a-leafs in the rear. Upper end kits will include front and rear leaf springs.
btw, I see you're in Buhl. My heep resides in Twin Falls.
Depends on who's and which kit you buy. Skyjackers "kit" for example comes w/front springs and rear blocks. The "system" they sell comes with new springs front/rear and shocks. Just read the manufacturers ad, it'll tell you what's included.

Question: I got my Honcho and somehow it caught "saggin' wagon syndrome" if I wanted to get a lift should I get a complete system or will the blocks even everything out

Sorta like having 4 bad brakes or 4 bad tires and just replacing 2 of them?

Plus you won't gain the performance of a true lift if you mix new springs with old ones stacked up with blocks or AAL's
So, what should i do since i have a 74, would AAL & Block still be 'band aid'?

Rusty's has (in the past) tried to pawn this off as being a lift for post mount vehicles such as the 75 and older... but a few members here know better now... it won't work in the rear, but it will work up front if you have the hangar style mounts and not posts up front like the older FSJ's
Tadsal has a part number for triangle springs that will match up to what you need for your 74 suspension with the post mounts.
Give him a shout! :D
Regardless of what you do... new springs are the way to go... rearching old ones doesn't last and adding AAL's or blocks just level you out and/or make it alot stiffer
Thanks for covering that RB! Yeah, i got the num for the rears from him a while ago.

Rusty's will not work for 74, and some 75 Rigs. If you have a post type spring hanger instead of the Box style you can not buy a lift for it. Custom made springs would be the only option. I personally would buy a Lift from a more established and quality brand name.
had the AAL then went to a full rusty's spring system. if you plan on keeping her and putting some miles down definetly get the new springs. well worth it.
