My vapor canister is open at the bottom. I presume there should be a bottom cover that is removable in order to replace the filter.

I am pretty sure that I just slid the old filter out and massaged the new one in

The newer one I have has only a plastic 'X' at the bottom to support the breather element (filter). Was told that OE was different, tho' having only 3 port vs. the 4 on the newer style :confused: , so I guess it's possible that the bottom could differ as well :rolleyes:

Thanks Langdon. I think I'll pull mine out and see if it still contains the charcoal and that I am only missing the filter retainer. If that is the case, I'll fabricate something. Otherwise ouch.

Right now, the canister is diconnected and my garage smells of vapor for a couple days when I pull the wag in.
