TFI upgrade?

I'm going to give my chero a tune up and was thinking this would be a good time to do a tfi upgade. But here soon I'm going to swap in a 401 and was wondering if the tfi upgrade will go with the 360 or if it can be swaped over to the 401 when I do the swap? thanks :D :D

oh, my 360 is out of a 82 chero and the 401 is out of a 74 j10. if that helps. thanks

O.K. I've done a search and it says that pre 78 jeeps need to get a distributor out of a 78 or newer jeep. well I check the autozone site and both dist.(the '82 360 and the '74 401) have the same part #'s. So are they the same or am I thinking of the wrong thing that I'm supose to swap? thanks

Autozone must have the wrong number for the '74. You can swap over your '82's distributor to a 401; the difference is internal to the distributor, but physically they bolt up in the same way with the same dimensions.
