OK,
My 79 Cherokee is just great, the only thing is the power stearing pump and/or box leaks like a siv. There is fluid everywhere and the reservoir was bone dry. The Cherokee has been lifted 4" and there does not appear to be any compensation in the steering. Hence the worn out box and/or pump. Assuming I replace one or both of these parts, is a drop pitman arm in order? If so, who makes a good one that will bolt on without major mod. I should be able to get the box at NAPA. It's the saginaw right? Any pointers would be great.
a DPA is recommended for lifts 4" or higher. the box is a little pricey rebuilt. someone will chime in with boxes of newer vehicles that will fit. there will be a hose coupling difference in your rig and the newer boxes.
i would clean it up and check to see where your leak is coming from before you replace anything. it could be from bad hose fittings or something as simple as that.

Don't bother buying a rebuilt box - too much $$$. Get a drop pitman arm and a steering box from a '95 to '00 Chevy Blazer (I used midsize) from your local junkyard. Do a search on "S-10 Blazer steering box" or email me for more details.
A 4" lift with no DPA will not cause your steering pump or your hoses to go bad, and, therefore, is not your problem. I run a 4" lift with no DPA (I have had the DPA in my garage uninstalled for years now) and have no problems.
If you are having problems with bumpsteer, then a DPA is in order - otherwise, you are barking up the wrong tree...

Well, he has a leaking pump. Mis-diagnosed as to cause, maybe, but alas it's still leaky and needs to be replaced.
Fo sho - no doubt - just hate to see another FSJer start throwing money at the wrong problem ;)

The steering box on Peso leaks like a siv as well. I found another one on E-bay for $20.00
Supposedly it's in good shape and doesn't leak. I priced re-built one's and said the heck with it.
Too much moola.
