Okay just replaced distributor and set timing.. I disconnected the vacume line to the distributor and capped it off (per the instructions) I then marked the timing-tag and the line on the crankshaft pulley.. I alligned the 2 marks with timing gun.. I then reattached the vacume line to the distributor and now the line on the crankshaft pully is off about an inch.. It does run good.. Do I need to readjust the timing again , or is it normal for the line to be off the crankshaft pully after the vacum is hoooked back up??

a definite maybe. my timing lite busted 20 yrs ago and i just time things by ear now. but yeah, you time with no vac advance. stands to reason with it connected timing would be advanced.

I HAVE TWO OR THREE TIMING LIGHTS.......BUT WERE CAN I BUY THE EAR TYPE????.....ME!!!! :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

my older brother showed me once. advanced pings, retarded kinda chuffs. hard to describe but once you hear it you know it. i used to static time bugs witha tail light bulb.i loved those ol bugs.

I'm been using my Custom 39x Ear Timing Device for a very long time. I have a feeling that I need to replace parts since it doesn't work like it used to when it was younger :D

Hey Gem... wanna clean up the garage and drop one of the timing lights off at my house? I could use one of those new-fangled devices...

NOT ONLY DO I HAVE TROUBLE SEEING....BUT I CAN'T HEAR TO GOOD....SO I'LL JUST KEEP STICKING WITH THE TIMING LIGHTS. ....ANDY D...I HAVE A NICE CHROME ONE I'LL SEND YOU..BUT IT'S NOT THE INDUCTIVE TYPE!!!!! !! :D ;) ME!!!!! :rolleyes: :rolleyes:
