I got the engine running in the Wagon today but I'm getting some steam coming out of the oil fill tube. I'm thinking a head gasket or maybe an intake leak. Any ideas? At idle it isn't noticable but as soon as it starts to rev it gets worse. I changed the oil and it doesn't look milky at all, no oil in the radiator either. Of course this was after running it around for about 40 minutes.

It is most likely oil vapor caused by blow-by. You may need to replace your pcv valve.

Do a compression test to verify what your cylinders are doing. I have the same symptom and my #7 cylinder is 35 lbs lower than the rest. Could be a cracked ring or a head gasket problem.

sounds like blow by to me.if your oil is getting dirty real quick this is also a sign, combustion gasses entering crank case also if it is anti freeze vapor it will have that digusting sweet smell.

I didn't put any antifreeze in it just water to be sure we didn't have any leaks. I believe it is blowby after checking some other things. The oil just has about 2 hours of running time on it so far and looks nice and clean. I'm going to do a compression test and see what that tells me.
