where am i supposed to tap power off of for things that i only want on when the ignition is on?the starter solenoid is now on the starter.i have the fuel pump tapped into the ignition wire for now just to run it temporarillly but i dont think that is where i should tapping power from.

she started right up after sitting idle for a year and sounds mean as hell.i dont think ill be craving power anymore.

You can still run a fender mounted relay like you had before(like Jeep did on early '88 GWs when they switched to Mitsu starter w/it's own solenoid, mine has it).Remember Chevy's(especially BBC)are notorious for starter heat soak so there are several companies that make a remote solenoid kit or you can make your own(just remember inline fuses for acc that you run).

Run a small distribution block on the firewall that is fused off the ignition..kinda like using the remote solenoid.

thanks rb but is it wise to tap off of the ignition wire that goes to the dist?will that reduce the voltage going to the dist?

Not sure Mark... that's a good question...what if you ran a relay inline just to open a circuit, then run the dist box off that hot circuit? Just trying to help..
