Hello all. I am a newbie so go easy!
I have an 82 Cherokee with the crappy plastic grille and un-Jeep-like square headlights and would really like to go with the 70's metal grille w/round headlights. Should it be a fairly simple, bolt-on swap?

Yep - it is fairly simple....you'll need to swap the entire headlight buckets...there are several different metal grills, so depending on which, there may be a few different details to work out, but overall it will be a piece of cake.

Welcome to the board, grill swap is really easy. I swapped my grille from an 80 Waggy with the square headlights to a Rhino grill from a 67 Waggy in about three hours.

Squeaky,
If your grille is in good shape please send me an e-mail when you are ready to get rid of it. Thanks.
The wide metal grill is refered to as the razor grill. Try using the forums search engine and type in something like "razor" and "swap". It's been a pretty common topic.

Thanks guys for the info!
Bd2thbnAZ- I'll probably be swapping it out by May. IF you still need it by then, when its off, consider it yours.

I did this conversion on saturday, took about an hour. Couple of brackets that supported the GW grill had to come off. The other thing that you will need to do is relocate your tranny cooler if you have afactory one like I had.
All I did was swap it around so that it sat behind the brackets rather than in front of it.
Still haven not fixed my bad ground but it is too cold out side.
All the best.
