Well I just changed my fluid and filter in the trans of my 89 GW and there was no pick up tube.
Got it back together and it still shifts hard going in to 3rd, but other than that it drives like it should.Might be the linkage. But should'nt there be a pick up tube in a TF727??
If so I'll see if a parts store has one.
thanks

I just recently did mine and I also had no pick-up, I think it just sits emersed in fluid and thats just the design.

Thanks, glad I'm not the only one with out it. My brother's (MillerLuck) 88GW has one so thats why I was asking.
It seems to me though that if it does'nt have one then it will suck up some fluid that does'nt flow thru the filter??

your filter neck should fit snug in the valve body then install all three screws and you should be fine.

There was no filter neck on the filter I put in, or with the one I took out.
The filter has just a small hole that faces the hole in the trans.
No seal thats why I thought that it would just suck up unfilterd trans fluid.
Maybe I got the wrong filter and so did the PO.
xj2fsj yours has a filter neck that goes up and in the valve body?
thanks
