Factory options

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows what the factory options were when ordering a 1980 j-10. The only reason I ask is mine doesn't have door awitches for the interior light. the holes are there but filled w/ silver plugs. I was wondering if the wires could be found on the wire harness if i just locate the switches somewhere? Also i wanna put power windows and door locks in the j-10 woudl the wire harness have the provisions already or did they use two different harnesses for a pickup versus a wag. I figure the equipment from a wag would transfer over making the powerize a pretty easy task(I hope). Thanx in advance

I think the dome-lights were OPTIONAL on the very base-model Cherokees and J-trucks. I suspect the wiring for the dome lights and power windows is not already installed, but can easily be retrofitted if you grabbed all the associated wiring from an '80-'85 Wagoneer. It will attach to the fusebox; you might want to grab as much of the Wagoneer's wiring harness as you can; the connectors on the fusebox can usually just be released from the donor and slipped into the back of your fusebox in the corresponding vacant space (there is a little locking tang on the connector that can be released with a small scribe or screwdriver).

there should be a plug, it should be right behind the cluster i think it is blue.

when i did my power windows i was able to just plug in the harness
