My recommendation is that you rebuild the stock carb. It's actually an excellent carb, and you can't find a Holley 2-bbl with an altitude compensation chamber.

I'm considering the same question. I rebuilt mine, and it runs good. But, the throttle shaft leaks and there are no carb shops around. So I will get a new carb soon and yes they bolt up no prob.
But if you don't have $250 handy a rebuild can be worth the effort, especially because you have to get acquainted with the vacum system ;)
Hope it helps,

im surprised that there isnt a kit to rebush the throttle shaft. drill out the hole, push in the bushing, ream out the bushing to fit the shaft. try a machine shop, maybe they can help

Same problem here with the throttle shaft. The rebuild was easy, just label everything before taking it apart. I had my wife film the disassembly just to make sure I could get it back together. Never did anything like this before.
