This is for a 1989.
Are replacement filler hoses difficult/impossible to get?
Are they a "dealer only" item?
I am assuming that the fuel lines leading from the tank to the fuel pump, as well as the return/overflow lines are standard size, but correct me if I am wrong.
I have been planning to drop the tank sometime in the future to do some rust prevention and want to know what I am getting into if I have to replace any filler hoses or other lines.

Matthew, the rubber filler hoses are not available as OEM replacements for our rigs right now. But that is going to change. I am in contact with several fuel hose companies, and am working hard to get them remade to OEM specs. When I go to the SEMA show in Vegas in early November, I will be speaking with the owners of several of the companies and discussing what it will take to get them remade for us.
As for the venting tubes & fuel tubes that go from the tank to the engine compartment, you can go to most autoparts houses and buy fuel-rated hose by length.
As for rust prevention, your tank is polyethylene, so you won't have to deal with it rusting (inside or out). Your gas tank skidplate should also have provisions to allow the excess water to drain out. If not, you can drill several small holes in the tank where it is closest to the frame, and also drill through the rubber mat in several places. This will allow all excess water to drain.

Careful with that drill! The tank is pressed right up next to the frame. There is not a lot of 'goof' room.
BJ. Thanks for working to get these hoses. No doubt some will complain that they are too much smile.gif
I won't.

Well, I think they're WAY too expensive smile.gif But it doesn't matter anyway, since you've already got my paycheck from direct deposit
Okay, so thank you for the hose work! Woody Hank's drinking issues are an on-going concern.

I am glad someone is working on this. I had to do some creative engineering to get a hose set up during the installation of the gas tank back into PsyOp.
I am sure you will let us all know when they become available.
Thanks
