I was wanting to know if i do decide to go with the milemarker hydraulic winch, I guess the ? is If i go with Agr system can I use the winch because it runs off the power steering.

I know whether its electrical or hydraulic the best performance is above idle to run.

thanks

Remember.... the Hyd winches ONLY work if the rig is RUNNING.... food for thought////

To the best of my understanding, alot of people upgrade TO the agr pump because it's stronger and better for the winch, and can take the extra load from the winch. I think thats what your asking right?

Are there any downfalls using the hydraulic winch.

I know to get the best performance of either electric or hydraulic winch, the rig has to be running above idle. Right

The advantage to an electric is that you can run it for short a short amount of time with the Rig Off. That can really save your butt if you ever get tipped on your side, and the motor won't fire.

I hate electricity, and avoid it every chance I get. I like the fact that you can run continuously with a hydraulic winch, where as electric winches heat up and shut down. However, how often do you need to winch so much that you would heat up an electric winch? I know that I never have. On the other side of the coin, how often do you flip a jeep on it's side? True that it would be nice to have an electric winch at that point, but I'd probably use a HiLift, and a Power r pull would work too. I guess that it all comes down to personal preferance. See which ever one you can get the better deal on. I'd go with hydraulic, but like I said I hate electricity.

Another thing, what happens if you go through some water, deeper than you expect, almost make it, but get some water in the engine, can't start it unless you want to break it, but maybe you could use your electric winch to pull you out so you can remove the water from the engine and go again. Just my 2¢

ok thanks for the replys.
I will go with the hydraulic.

If i get flipped on my side or water in the engine I guess I have to use the comealong.
