I know its off topic but I figure I can get the best automotive advice here!
My oldest has a 1991 Sunbird 2.0 OHC 4 cyl. I noticed it has been smoking(white smoke) and going thru antifreeze(headgasket probably). I dont know if it has been running hot because the temp gauge is inop.
Yesterday I ran the car in the driveway, and noticed the radiator fan would not kick on. I squeezed the hoses to see if coolant was flowing, it was not, I could squeeze the hoses completely flat. (bad thermostat)
This morning I opened the radiator cap to see if the coolant level was full and it was. Pulled the thermostat(located in the filler cap), boiled it and it did not pop.
Ran the car with the thermostat out of it, and cap off. Coolant flows up and into the radiator hose(it tees off) and into the radiator, but not with enough flow. So I revved it up to increase the flow and it started to get a LOT of air bubbles. Looked like a stirred up soda. I put the cap on, and after a few minutes still no coolant circulating thru the hoses.
So, let me know if the following is correct:

Thermostat IS bad(195 wouldnt pop at 212)
Radiator clogged.
Water Pump dragging and not circulating like it should?
Headgasket blown.

I think if the water pump is going bad and the thermostat was stuck closed eventually the headgasket blew. Any ideas???

Thanks for all the help!

Gawdzilla.

Pontiac 4 bangers have a nasty habit of blowing head gaskets, and warping heads, and seizing spark plugs, all at once. You probably can't get good circulation because of the air being introduced to the system. If the fan is not working and the thermostat was stuck, that probably did it.

yep head gasket. it usually leaks on the driver side cylinder. see it all the time where i work. although it usually pisses out to the outside but it can blow the inside too.

Thanks guys! I already bought a head gasket kit a week ago, it seemed to scream headgasket. It will have to wait a week or so until I get time to tear it apart. Thanks again for all of the advice!
