I know everyone out there has probably had a water leak that soaks the carpet under the vent areas.
Any idea where these leaks start from? can they be fixed?

Try this tech article Finding Leaks (http://www.ifsja.org/tech/body/fsj-leak.shtml)

Alot of these leaks are caused by water entering the hole that the top door hinge uses in the fender. I beleve the fix is to use some rubber door seals and to clean out the drain holes in that bottom of that part of the fender.
Try doing a search on this topic.....seems this was discussed sometime in the last year or so.

I thought I had that problem until I noticed that the PO removed the plastic from behind the door panel. I would have a hugh puddle in the floor board. Just something else to check in the never ending hunt for leaks..
