I looked at the trails they're goin to be runnin in OURAY. (After I say this I'll probably be the first one to break LOL) but that stuff looks way easy for even a slightly modified rig, unless the weather gets nasty (which is entirely possible in those mountains) in which case I know a REALLY good bar in Telluride From the list of trails, there's only one that will pose any problem at all for you big tire guys, and that's only in one spot and, If I remember right, there are like three or four options in that spot. Biggest danger I see is overheating from having a congo line creeping up and down switchbacks at snails pace, vapor lock, and maybe altitude sickness. 4core, aux tranny cooler and electric fans are on my menu, but am I missing something on the trail difficulty? Any Cfsja guys on that know that area?

I had my Wag over there last summer mt biking the Colorado trail and the wife was driving the wag offroad to the separate resting points up at around 10-12K ft elevation. Your assessment of the terrain is about right...lots o switchbacks
Beautiful country and I wish I was going back with you. I have a cool pic of my wag in the mts a few miles N of Ouray if anybody cares to see em.
Unfortunatley, I dont have the capability to post em to the net so it has to be email.

There are two great bars in Ouray. The old Western
Bar and Hotel has a killer bar. The bar itself is huge, solid wood and been there since the early 1800's. Wood floor and all. You can almost hear the seedy old miners playing poker on one of the tables. There is also a cool bar on Main St. I believe its the Golden Eagle Saloon.

Not to side track your wheeling, but no need to drive to the tourist trap of Telluride for a cool drink smile.gif .

Oracle ...... I am a CFSJA guy and will be helping at the sign-in desk...For OURAY trails check out the info in my SIG ... We have started a trail club General discusion group and there are albums with alot of photos of the area. I have driven every pass in that area and have started posting Ouray driving & safty tips. All IFSJA MEMBERS ARE WELCOME!! We'er not about jumping ship or doing the shanghai routine...just for trails, camping and funny stuff. The wag on the home page did it all except Poughkeepies Gulch without a lift or lockers..... ..ds..
