hello gang
well i got this 76 since i need a radiator and they are ofering me a 86 grand wagoner for 200 wich i intent to buy this has a 360 on and i got a 304 i want to swap engines what whoul i need whould it fit also on the ignition system wich whould it better the motocraft or my original and are the distributor swapable

You'll need to get a 360 flexplate and you should install the bushing that goes in the crankshaft for the torque converter to help align it. You can use the 304 distributor, but I'd keep the 86 distributor,coil,module, and wiring for future use.get the engine running with your old ignition setup first then you can convert later. The motorcraft system will work better overall. If you start with your dist check the spark plug gaps as they may be too much. DENNIS

flex plate i tought that the 304-360-401 were the same and also on my vin it says that the mule came with a 360 probably po changed it

THEN after you get all your parts rounded up, take some time out, wash up and bust out the old phonics book. Good luck with your swap. LOL.
