It runs great!Starts right now! But,the module is hotter than I think it should be.Can't hold my hand on it.

I'm working on my '76 wag.

I fabbed up a wiring harness that lets me plug into the original harness without cutting it.

The hot wire,(red/white stripe)comes from the bulkhead connector and runs along the passenger side on top of the engine. The wire has a "lump",with 3 wires coming out.One wire has battery voltage and feeds the prestolight module plug. The other 2 have about 2 volts less and feed the coil and the electric choke.I think,(assume)the "lump"is a resistor.

The duraspark module has 2 plugs.I have full voltage to the white wire on the module, and reduced voltage to the red wire.

The other plug connects to the distributor, with the green wire going to the coil.

Can anyone see a reason why my module should be so hot????

dont know, mine has run hot ever since I got her...burns you if you touch it. I thought that was normal.

If an FSJ does it, it's not normal.

I wired a short into my Postal Jeep's ignition module power supply wires somehow.... Anyhow it melted the epoxy in the module and the module (and four or five them, at that) burned up.

I replaced it with HEI, since I can't screw that up.
