Intake and Exhaust gaskets?

On the 258 I swapped my intake and exhaust manifolds about a week ago and finally started it up last night, but everything from the exhaust gasket to the exhaust o ring(doughnut) was smoking. Is this the gasket material or is it the 2 week old WD40 burning off? Any guesses?

Almost always you will get smoke off a newely installed manifold. The oil and grease and as you mentioned WD40 will be the cause of this. Move it out of garage and keep watch should burn off in a few minutes ;)

Thanks, this is kinda what I thought but I just wanted to be sure. I will keep the fire extinguisher(sp?)handy and burn away. :cool:
