While sitting in line at the landfill this morning, I heard a chattering, jingling type noise while at an idle. Got out and raised the hood to see where it was coming from (worried it was the valves rattling). Seems to be coming from the air pump.
Can these things be rebuilt or have to be replaced? Where will I find either a kit or a rebuilt/new air pump? I've thought about just taking the belt off and running without it. What kind of problems could this cause? I would strip the smog equip, but seems emissions testing is coming to SC in the next couple of years and I don't want to have to put it all back on.
