howdy guys, brand new to this site with questions. one, can i put a automatic transmission to my 65-66 jeep 327? also have a leaking power steering pump but havenot seen this type. it is a cylinder type with a post and wingnut holding top on.was dissassembled when got it need to back together. thanks for you help :confused: :eek: null

If I remember right, yes you can put an automatic in it. Its a Buick engine so I'm thinking that something off a buick will most likely bolt right up...might need an adaptor because of difference in years. Someone else up here will tell you shortly if I'm right or wrong. :D
I don't know anything about that kind of power steering pump....sorry

The 327 is a Kaiser/AMC engine. It does not have the sasme bolt pattern as a 360 though. They did come with the auto behind them as an option. The super wagoneer had them. It is a TH400. The earlier TH400's were not made for the 327 so they had an adapter plate that went between the two. If you can get lucky and find a donar wag, grab it as you will need a lot to make it all work right. I was not lucky enough so I just swapped the running gear for that of a '79.

man....I was thinking about the 350.....thats the buick. Oops...but I was right about the auto though...kinda :(
